5-Ingredient Greek Yogurt Bagel Bites with Cream Cheese Stuffing

Ingredients
  

  • 1.25 cups self-rising flour (see notes)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 4 oz chilled cream cheese spread or block
  • 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning
  • 2 eggs (optional) beaten

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375℉. Stick your cream cheese in the freezer while you prep the dough (about 15 minutes)
  • Make the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour with Greek yogurt. Mix until dough is formed. The dough should be smooth and shouldn't stick to your fingers. Add a little bit of extra flour if the dough seems too sticky.
  • Divide the dough: Pinch off about 2 tbsp of the dough and roll into a ball on a floured surface. Repeat until all of the dough is used up. You should have about 12 dough balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Stuff the dough: Flatten each dough ball into a small disc in your hand or on a floured surface.
  • Remove the cream cheese from the freezer. Scoop about 1/2 tsp - 1 tsp of cream cheese into the center of each disc.
  • Fold the edges around the filling to form a sealed ball. Roll until smooth. Repeat with all of the dough balls.
  • Once all the dough balls have been stuffed with cream cheese, arrange them evenly on the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle on the seasoning: Brush the top of each bagel bite with egg wash (optional). Sprinkle each bagel bite with everything bagel seasoning.
  • Bake the bagel bites at 375℉ for 20 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Remove from oven and let them cool for 5-10 minutes.

Notes

  • No self-rising flour? Make your own by mixing 1 cup of all-purpose flour + 1½ tsp baking powder + ¼ tsp salt
 
  • Freeze the cream cheese for 15 minutes: To make it easier to cut and add the cream cheese into the dough, freeze your block or tub of cream cheese for 15 minutes
 
  • Make them sweet: Swap the everything bagel seasoning for cinnamon sugar and add a touch of vanilla extract to the dough. You can also try stuffing with strawberry or blueberry cream cheese for a fun twist!
 
  • Mini version: Make 24 smaller bites instead of 12 for a toddler-sized portion or party appetizer
