Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Caesar salad kit – I love the caesar salad kit from Trader Joe’s but you can use any salad kit from your local grocery store. Just make sure that includes a packet of dressing, croutons, and some shredded cheese

  • Cooked chicken strips or chunks – You can cook and shred chicken breasts, or you can use shortcuts like rotisserie chicken, canned chicken chunks, grilled chicken strips, or even cut up breaded chicken strips!

  • Flour tortillas – I used 10 inch flour tortillas, but you can use spinach or whole wheat wraps if you prefer. I would recommend a larger size burrito-style tortilla for these wraps

📌 OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: Feel free to throw in some extra veggies like sliced avocado, chopped cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, or red onion!

substitution ideas

📌 Want a vegetarian version? You can use chickpeas instead of chicken. You can also use plant-based chicken if you prefer!

📌 Not a fan of caesar salad? You can use any other salad kit to switch up the flavor! I think an Asian-inspired salad kit would also taste amazing in these wraps

📌 Swap chicken for other proteins like deli meats, turkey, beef, or even sliced hard boiled eggs

📌 Instead of flour tortillas, you can use spinach wraps, whole wheat tortillas, or even lettuce wraps for a low-carb version of this recipe

Step-by-Step Instructions for the Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps

1. Prep the filling

Open up the caesar salad kit and remove the packets of croutons, dressing, cheese, and any other toppings that are included in the kit.

In a large mixing bowl, add the salad greens, dressing, croutons, and shredded Parmesan. Add the cooked chicken strips or chunks to the mixing bowl. Mix gently until well combined.

2. Assemble the wraps

Lay the tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon the chicken caesar salad mixture into the center of the tortilla like shown above.

Fold the left and right sides of the tortilla towards the middle (like shown in the 3rd picture above). Next, start rolling up the tortilla from the bottom edge to the top. A video is worth a thousand words, so check out the video below that shows you how to fold up and roll a wrap!

3. Serve and enjoy!

I recommend slicing the wrap in half before serving. Enjoy!

Notes & Suggestions

  • Making a nice, tight, neat wrap can take a little bit of practice! Try warming up the tortillas for 10-15 seconds in the microwave before assembling which can make it a little easier to roll and fold. Make sure to check out the video on how to fold a wrap above!

  • If you have any leftover veggies in the fridge, feel free to add it to these wraps!

  • I recommend eating these wraps right away for maximum freshness. You can store them in an air tight container for up to 24 hours and they’ll still taste great, but beyond that they might start to get a little soggy

Storage Instructions

  • Meal Prep: You can make the chicken caesar salad wraps the night before to have an easy grab and go lunch for the next day. Just store in an airtight container in the fridge overnight

  • Fridge: Assembled wraps last up to 2 days when tightly wrapped in foil, parchment, or plastic wrap and stored in an airtight container. I’d recommend eating within 24 hours if you can, but 2 days is the max I would store these since the salad greens may start wilting after a couple days

  • Packing in a lunchbox: Wrap tightly in foil or parchment paper and place in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. Keep the wrap chilled until lunchtime to prevent sogginess and bacterial contamination
  • Freezing is not recommended for assembled wraps since the salad greens will become soggy after thawing

Frequently Asked Questions

Yep, they sure are! Use whole wheat wraps or add extra veggies for a nutrition boost.

Here’s some of the good stuff you can find in this recipe:

  • Chicken provides a lean source of protein and makes these wraps filling

  • Caesar salad adds vitamins, minerals, and fiber from the greens. The cheese adds a small amount of calcium

🤑 The cost estimate for this recipe is $11.18, which is about $2.80 per wrap. The biggest cost for this recipe is the chicken which cost me $5.99 for a 6oz bagged of cooked chicken strips.

To save money on this recipe, use leftover chicken if you have it! Rotisserie chicken, canned chicken, or even deli meat tastes great in this recipe.

You can also make shredded chicken at home by cooking chicken breasts then shredding it. Here’s a recipe on how to make shredded chicken at home! Shop around to buy the chicken on sale if you can

For babies: I don’t recommend making assembled wraps for babies. However, you can offer them a “deconstructed” version! Skip the tortilla, croutons, and salad greens. Just mix soft pieces of cooked chicken with a small amount of low-sodium caesar dressing. You can offer it on a spoon or as a finger food.

Make sure the chicken is tender and finely shredded or chopped into very small pieces that are easy for your baby to gum or chew safely.

For toddlers: Slice the wrap into easy-to-eat pinwheels or strips, and go light on the dressing.

Yes! Swap the chicken for chickpeas, white beans, or a plant-based chicken alternative. You can also add extra veggies like avocado or roasted red peppers for more flavor and texture.

No problem! You can make your own quick Caesar salad by tossing chopped romaine lettuce with a simple dressing made from mayonnaise or Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, and grated Parmesan. Add croutons or another crunchy topping if you have some at home!

If you can’t eat the wrap right away, then roll it up in plastic wrap/aluminum foil and store in an airtight container in the fridge until you’re ready to eat. Eat the wraps within 24 hours for max freshness. The salad greens will start to wilt after 2 days.
